Allow me to tell you all of meeting John for the first time. Mid-70's at 30 Rock. I worked as a session player at the recording studios on the 9th floor. During one of my breaks, I ventured down to the 8th floor where SNL did the show from. I'm wondering down this hallway when comming the other way towards me was John. I thought to myself, "oh god, what do I say? Do I say anything?" As he got within a couple of feet of me, I reached out to shake his hand and said to him that I was a fan and that I enjoyed his work. It was than that I realized how tired he looked and that something was bothering him. I asked him if he was okay. He asked if I would like to go across the street and get a beer with him. At that time there was an Irish Pub across the center. It is now a Fridays I think. Anyway, we sat and talked for about an hour or so when I realized I was very late getting back to work. I told John I had to go, I could lose my job (and this is when I learned about Star Power), he said to me "if anyone gives you any crap, just tell them you were with me." From that day on, we became hang out buddies when our breaks meshed. In time we had become friends, always keeping in contact after he left SNL for Calf. When I learned of his death, I was very saddend. John was always very kind to me and I'm sorry that I didn't get to know him as much as I wanted. Daniel J. Francisco

Wired- terrible & probably no one has an interest in a bad story of mr.Belushi. 2nd, I've spent a long time lookingfor an American release of "Neighbors". From what I've gathered for info has something with several ownerships of the movie and the typical issues with money. Fortunately, outside of the US, there are differnet companies producing DVD releases of movies, such as "Neighbors". Some would consider as bootlegging, and maybe so, but I've seen DVDs with great quality. You can find if you look...

I grew up in a western suburb of Chicago not far from where John Belushi was from. I loved him even as a little kid when I would watch him on Saturday Night with my Dad(against my Mothers wishes-she thought I was too young to watch the show-which I was)
Anyhow, I absolutly agree with the previous comment that the cast with John Belushi has never, and as far as I'm concerned, will never be replaced. That was some funny shit and after all the good comedians left, it wasn't worth watching anymore. There was an old gas station called Albert's Corner at the corner of Rt. 47 & 38 that was used (if I remember correctly) for the Blues Brothers movie before it was torn down. That was pretty cool as a kid knowing they were filming part of a movie in our town. Also, I wish John wouldn't have died, because I think him and Jim would have done alot of great movies together. It's very sad.

John Belushi was the funniest guy of him era. Dan Aykroyd and John were the modern day Abott and Costello. To this day I can't look at Dan Aykroyd on tv or on screen without thinking of John Belushi. May his films, Dan and this site keep John"s memory alive forever. There will never be another like you.

Does anyone know why 'Neighbors' & 'Wired' have not been released on DVD? Has John been forgotten? Obviously so since I'm the only one here & no one else has posted a single comment(4/22/2008). The only thing more tragic than his death would be for people to forget about this great talent's life.
